Use the latest model smartphone you have available.

External Microphone (recommended)

Cost: under $70.  We recommend using the Rode Smartlav Plus.  It works with most model phones. If you would like to extend the length of the microphone cable you can purchase an extension cable. 

Another option is the Rode VideoMic Me.

Alternatively, go into a large electronics retail store and ask them for an external microphone that will work with your particular phone. 

Tripod for Smartphones (highly recommended)

Cost: under $20. Buy this from your local electrical retailer or online. You can purchase tripods that can be used as Selfie Sticks which are useful for recording group classes or testimonials.
